Bodensee Day 1: Lindau & Meersburg

My friend Elaine and I went on a road trip around the Bodensee (Lake Constance) this past weekend. We set out without any really solid plans, which is always fun. First we stopped in Lindau, which is a cute town on the Bodensee. The weather was really beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better day. Then we pressed on to Meersburg, following the lake for most of the way. Meersburg was a pleasant surprise. Even cuter than Lindau, but a bit crowded because it was Easter weekend. Finally, we stopped at the Pfahlbauten (lake dwellings) just before sunset. Unfortunately, we couldn't see much because the museum was already closed. Then we got a hotel and had a great meal and a few drinks before the night ended. A great first day to our little trip.

That knight holding the eagle in his arms in the background made me laugh.
